About this policy
It is the policy of feeb to prohibit and actively pursue the prevention of money laundering and any activity that facilitates money laundering or the funding of terrorist or criminal activities. feeb is committed to Anti Money Laundering (AML) compliance in accordance with applicable law and requires its officers, employees and appointed producers to adhere to these standards in preventing the use of its products and services for money laundering purposes.
For the purposes of the Policy, money laundering is generally defined as:
1. Engaging in acts designed to conceal or disguise the true origins of criminally derived proceeds so that the unlawful proceeds appear to have been derived from legitimate origins or constitute legitimate assets.
2. It is the introduction of illegally obtained currency into the banking system.
3. It is using the banking system to illegally hide currency that was lawfully obtained.
It is not hard for criminals to obtain currency. However, until the currency is deposited into the banking system, their ability to utilize it is restricted.
Suspicious Activity - Defined
It is impossible for the directorate to define all activity that would qualify as suspicious. However, the following guidelines quantify the types of suspicious activities that feeb will monitor for.
Note: Applicants/signatories of account in feeb Labuan will have to be present when having such complication-account enquiry and meetings with feeb Labuan staffs or govening bodies within and around LOFSA.
The board of directors at First East Export Offshore Bank(feeb) is committed to combating money laundering. First East Export Offshore Bankmanagement will actively search for suspicious activity. When it is discovered, a First East Export Offshore Bankofficer will review it and making a recommendation as to whether a Suspicious Activity Report (SAR) should be filed.
This policy applies to all feeb, its officers, and employees, appointed producers and products and services offered by feeb. All business units, including, without limitation, and locations within feeb will cooperate to create a cohesive effort in the fight against money laundering. Each business unit and location have implemented risk-based procedures reasonably expected to prevent, detect and cause the reporting of transactions.
The feeb Officer will file the SAR with the appropriate legal and regulatory authorities. The feeb Officer will report to the board of directors the number of SARs filed each month, along with brief a summary as to dollar amount of the suspicious activities and why they were deemed that way.
